Fans are feeling excited yet nostalgic after hearing that Blake Shelton would be making a special appearance for the second part of The Voice‘s live finale on May 20.
This will be Shelton’s first official on-set appearance on The Voice since he departed the show in 2023. The singer previously made a cameo in a sweet video during Season 25’s live finale.
The Voice reminded fans of the exciting news, which was originally announced earlier this month. Shelton is returning on Tuesday’s finale as a “guest artist,” with other former coaches like Kelly Clarkson, Chance The Rapper, and Alicia Keys also making appearances.
Fans were ecstatic after learning about Shelton’s surprising appearance, with comments like, “Can’t wait soooo excited” and “Absolutely NOT gonna miss thiss!!!!!”
“King of the Voice is back on his turf! 🔥🔥🔥,” declared another fan.
Some were particularly excited to see Shelton interact with coach Adam Levine again, as the two’s on-screen friendship was a fan-favorite part of the show during their run as coaches together.
“Blake had to come & mess w/Adam a bit lol,” joked one fan in the comments on Instagram, while someone else said, “We need more seasons with Blake and Adam again lol.”
Unfortunately, Shelton and the other finale guest artists are just appearing for this season’s final episode. The coaches for the next season of The Voice are Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Bublé. It remains to be seen whether or not Shelton will ever return to the show as a coach.
